White Sands, New Mexico [Canon 5D]
May 4, 2009 (click in the image for a larger, sharper version)
This image was taken last Spring when I was teaching a workshop in New Mexico. It was my first visit to White Sands National Monument, but it won''t be my last. I was drawn to working with this photo over the weekend as I was writing an article on creative effects in Lightroom and I used this shot to demonstrate dramatic black and white and split toning.
Next Workshop
My next workshop on Creative Collage with Adobe Photoshop is coming up in a little more than a month and takes place in southern New Mexico at the Mesilla Digital Imaging Workshops at the Preston Contemporary Art Center. Mesilla is right next to Las Cruces and about an hour's drive from the amazing landscape of White Sands. The deadline for signing up for this workshop is fast approaching soon. If you are interested in learning some of the most essential Photoshop techniques for creating multiple-image collages, sign up soon!
