A fortuitous moment and a good example of being in the right place at the right time. These ferries come in, let off and take on passengers, and then depart rather quickly. After I took this shot I moved to a slightly different position, but by then the ferry was already backing up and the motion blur caused by the 4 second exposure did not look good.
The only colors that have been added to this image are a muted and strong sepia tone. The "blue" on the water is the natural neutral tone of the black and white scan.

Shadows in the Snow
March 11, 2006
The snow pictured in the previous post had just about melted away when another storm rolled through this past weekend. Another dose is expected tonight (Monday, 3/13). This view was taken along a forest path that is near our house.
Since there was little color value in this image the conversion to black and white was made in Adobe Camera Raw.
